Dear Friends of Ensign Global:
It is with great sadness that we along with our partnering organization, the University of Utah, make the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming summer programs: Ensign Global Leaders, Eccles Global College Courses, Health in Context Minor, and Ensign Global Leadership Internship due to the recent developments of Coronavirus/COVID-19 across the globe. Our number one priority is the safety and health of participants and the communities we support. In conjunction with our vision of having health as a foundation to allow families and communities prosperity through progress driven by knowledge, increased capacity, and innovation that leads to value creation, we believe the cancellation of our programs for all involved is the right decision. We know many will be disappointed and inconvenienced, but we hope this decision will allow time for preventative measures to minimize the effects of COVID-19.
As many of you make changes to your plans during this ever changing situation, please take time to take precautions to protect yourself and those around you. Below are some recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Wash your hands thoroughly and often. Make sure you are cleaning between your fingers and under your nails.
Avoid shaking hands, especially with those who appear to be ill.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth as much as possible.
Disinfect shared surfaces.
Stay home when you are sick and/or feeling sick
Use videoconferencing for meetings when possible
Limit food sharing
The Ensign Global family is committed to our vision of using health as a foundation to create progress for all. Please use credible resources to learn more about the COVID-19 and preventive measures that can be taken to lessen its spread.
Your state Department of Health
Our thoughts are with those who have been directly impacted by this virus, and we know this has caused disruption to so many around the globe. We hope you understand the cancellation of our summer programs are meant to protect you, your extended family and members of our global community. Please take care of yourself and those around you during this time. We will post any updates to future programming on our website as well as our social media channels.
With health as a foundation,
we believe that families and communities can prosper through progress driven by knowledge, increased capacity, and innovation that leads to value creation.
